The Morton boys basketball team had difficulty generating points Friday.

Dunlap outscored the Potters 39-22 over the final three quarters to attain a 46-32 Mid-Illini Conference win.

Visiting Morton (10-10, 5-3) settled for a regular-season split with the Eagles and dropped out of a share of second place in the league standings with the setback.

Corey Dullard was the Potters' offensive leader with 13 points.

Ian Saathoff and Isaac Stephens registered six points apiece for Morton, which fell one game behind Metamora for second place in the M-I.

Dunlap, which was led by Alex Sorenson's 19 points, closed within a game of the third-place Potters.

The Eagles widened their 29-23 lead to start the fourth quarter with a 17-9 margin.

Morton was scheduled Tuesday to host conference-leading Limestone, the ninth-ranked team in the Jan. 29 Associated Press Class 3A state poll.
